Vision

I am convinced that we all have a unique, personal path to go in this life here on this earth.
Each has a different track in front of them.
At times your path goes over cobblestones, on steep slopes that are hard to climb through dark forests, but also by beautiful valleys, along beautiful beaches, delicious descents, ... Every road has traffic lights, rest areas, wells in the road, unexpected beautiful views, ...
Our road is sometimes made of asphalt, on wide and well lit motorways and on other occasions on narrow aisles through fields that you can not properly distinguishe. And on everyone's path there are side streets, intersections, junctions and forks.
It is not always easy to follow your fath. Unexpected turns, dark corners, splits, etc. can make us make a detour, arrive in a dead-end or end up in the ditch putter.
You may need someone accompany you for a while, looking for your path.

When we are on our path, we feel that everything goes smoothly. We also have setbacks, but they do weigh less by. We have the ability to deal with these problems and let us not be fooled. That does not mean that we are always happy and peaceful, we can also experience pain and fear, but we do not let it take usover and each time again we find in ourselves the strength to continue.

When you lose track, you may feel that nothing is really good. Setbacks tend to prevail. You see more problems than opportunities. You do not know how  to deal with the blows of life. Then we suffer (= pain persists, you feel powerless and don't know the answer). You lose your strength and you can only feel the gravity of life. At such times it is very useful to let someone accompany you in your search of your own path.

I look at people and their difficulties from a holistic view: feeling/soul, mind/spirit and action/body are connected. A problem in one area affects other areas or comes from another domain. Thus, the headache could be caused by a physical problem, but also by an emotional or mental problem. Consequently, a problem could be approached from different angles.
In guiding children and adults I always look from the holistic view.

In line with the holistic thinking lies the systemic thinking: people are never alone. In a family, in a group of friends, in a neighborhood or in a work situation, people are linked one or the other way. This means that people interact and that one problem with one person always is connected to the whole. If a child has a problem, it has a great impact on the family while the family plays a role in the course of the problem. The problem of the child may also be a symptom of an imbalance within the family.
In my work with children and adults I try to look wider than the person I have before me. So we often work with the principles of family dynamics to shed a light on the broader context of the problem.

During 2009 I discovered the Hawaiian Ho'Oponopono healing method. The vision, background and approach of Ho'Oponopono appeals to me so much that I have built a separate blog about Ho'Oponopono. Take a look at the Ho'Oponopono blog!
